The rent-to-own model offers you the opportunity to purchase your desired apartment after 5 years at the current purchase price (without indexation). You sign a five-year rental agreement and decide at the end of the tenancy whether you want to buy the apartment or not. An extension of the rental agreement is not possible. At the start of the lease, in addition to the security deposit, a down payment of 10% of the purchase price is made. If you decide to buy, the down payment you made will be deducted from the purchase price. The rent paid is not credited toward the purchase price; the security deposit will, of course, be returned to you. If you do not exercise your purchase option, you will get your down payment back in full (with interest).
