Going in Summer

Fans of the TV series often know Going’s town centre at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser from the series. The beautiful village square is featured in every episode. From the Wilder Kaiser, the Kitzbüheler Horn to the Großglockner – at the Astberg you can expect a gigantic panorama – pure panorama. First the relaxed ascent with the Astbergbahn chairlift. Once you reach the top, take time to breathe and feel the wonderful tranquility that the lake radiates. It lies there quietly, surrounded by mountains, with the imposing mass of the Wilder Kaiser in the background. Especially on a clear summer day this place is uniquely beautiful. The Astbergsee glitters in the sunlight. The silhouette of the Wilder Kaiser is reflected on the water surface. From the beautiful viewing platform you can let your gaze wander over the Kaisergebirge – the panoramic loungers invite you to relaxed lingering.

Also perfect for families. A highlight is the Ponyalm with its 20 cute ponies. Together with the pony professionals, they explore the area on the backs of the ponies – a dream for all kids. Then they settle down on one of the wooden loungers at the unique Kaiserkino. The cinema serves as a quiet oasis.

Going in Winter

Especially popular with ambitious skiers: The Astberg piste in Going – one of the most beautiful and varied slopes in SkiWelt with exciting terrain transitions and a broad, steep slope. On the sunny side of the Astberg, carvers can enjoy wide, mid-slopes – also a pleasure in spring.
And for those seeking a real challenge on a ski day, start from Going on the “Kaiser Round” with almost 20 piste kilometres and over 4000 metres of vertical drop to discover SkiWelt piste by piste lift to lift. Start and finish ideally in Going – but the access point can of course be at any other point of the round.

BEGINNERS AND NOVICES

Beginners and newcomers will enjoy many easy blue runs at the Astberg, as well as broad and spacious descents. Ski runs soften difficult sections on the valley descent of the Astberg piste – and soften descents in SkiWelt Going also for less experienced skiers. Ideal for beginners is the large practice area in the valley (practice slope Ellmau-Going) with its own practice lift. The ski school located at the valley station ensures the best training for all winter sports enthusiasts.

EXPERIENCES

One of the most beautiful toboggan runs in SkiWelt is the 4.5-kilometre-long toboggan run on the Astberg. The route leads either to Ellmau (Naschberg – Hotel der Bär) or directly to Going (practice slope) and is illuminated daily until 24:00. The toboggan rental at Goingsport right at the valley station of the Astbergbahn provides the right equipment.
