New fee exemption for real estate purchases:
From 1 April 2024 buyers of properties up to a basis of 500,000 euros (per person) can be exempt from notarial entry fees for the ownership right and for the lien (1.1% of the purchase price or 1.2% of the lien value). In credit-financed purchases more than 90% of the loan must be used for the purchase or renovation of the property. The acquired home must be inhabited for five years; if sold earlier or the main residence is given up, the fee is adjusted.
