The so-called Zimmerhütte was accommodation for workers. This historic building has an area of around 520 m² on two levels. The lower level is ideal for a workshop or an artist's studio. The upper floor is the living level, which could include several apartments. Three possible apartment layouts have already been planned by the architect. The living level has its own entrance and could be made accessible. The plot with an area of 1,090 m² has the designation Bauland Dorfgebiet.

Knappenberg is a village in the municipality of Hüttenberg in the district of St. Veit an der Glan in Carinthia, shaped by the former iron ore mining. The village has 227 inhabitants (as of 1. Jänner 2025). The village lies in the northeast of the district of St. Veit an der Glan, in the middle of the municipality of Hüttenberg, on the Hüttenberger Erzberg, at an elevation of 1.060 m about 300 meters above the municipal seat Hüttenberg.

2500 years of mining can be experienced in the Schaustollen and the Bergbaumuseum. Expressive and lively, the puppets by Helga Riedel depict the work and the tradition of the people.
