The so-called Zimmerhütte was accommodation for workers. This historic building has an area of around 520 m² on two levels. The lower level is ideally suited for a workshop or an artist studio. The upper floor is the residential level, which could comprise several apartments. Three possible apartment floor plans have already been planned by the architect. The residential level has its own entrance and could be designed barrier-free. The property with an area of 1.090 m² has the designation building land village area.

Knappenberg is a locality in the municipality of Hüttenberg in the district of St. Veit an der Glan in Carinthia, shaped by former iron ore mining. The locality has 227 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2025). The locality lies in the northeast of the district of St. Veit an der Glan, in the middle of the municipality of Hüttenberg, at the Hüttenberger Erzberg, with an elevation of 1.060 m about 300 meters above the main town of the municipality Hüttenberg.

2500 years of mining can be experienced in the show adit and in the mining museum. Expressively and vividly, the dolls by Helga Riedel depict the work and tradition of the people.
