This unique property in Tyrol with a lot of history is for sale.
A unique opportunity to acquire history.
The former city gate tower, today Inntor, is part of the former late Gothic city fortifications and is the only remaining city gate in Rattenberg.
The listed city gate tower features a Gothic pointed-arch gate on the city side and an interior round-arch portal.
The building is three storeys high, with a gable roof, and is probably from the second half of the 14th century.
Directly behind it was the old Inn Bridge, which was removed only in 1839. The tower is always a true eye-catcher when one wishes to pass through the gate.
This old city tower (see history below) has in recent years been completely outfitted and used as living space.
At the top of the tower there is a magnificent viewing terrace with a breathtaking view of the Tyrolean mountain world as well as of the Inn. (subject to approval, an expansion with a further small room would be possible)

Rattenberg lies between rock and Inn at the foot of a castle from the 10th century. In the past the town served as a transfer point for goods of the Inn shipping and as a customs post at the border between Tyrol and Bavaria. The historic center is built in the Inn-Salzach style and today a pedestrian zone.
Historically, Rattenberg was first mentioned in 1254 as Ratinberch. It may be based on the short form of the personal name Radolt or Ratpot – a name that occurred frequently among the Counts of Andechs, who owned this area. It is unsure whether a Ratpotenberg attested in the 12th century also refers to this place. In 1393 the elevation to Bavarian city occurred. Protected by the castle, the town developed along the road between Inn and the city hill. A wall and a moat in the east enclosed the town. The eastward-leading South Tyrolean road forms as a kind of town square the center. After floods the town was raised several times.
The four Bavarian sub-duchies after the partition of 1392
Rattenberg belongs, like the rest of Tyrol east of the Ziller (Zillertal), to the Archdiocese of Salzburg. Until the Landshut War of Succession, Rattenberg was politically part of Bavaria. In 1505 Maximilian I. secured by negotiation, with the Cologne Arbitration Award which ended the war, the possession of the towns of Rattenberg, Kufstein and Kitzbühel, etc., previously belonging to Bavaria-Ingolstadt and then to Bavaria-Landshut. Up to the 19th century, however, the customary law of Emperor Ludwig the Bavarian remained in effect in these areas. In 1514 the inheritance settlement of Bavarian Duke Wilhelm IV with his younger brother occurred in Rattenberg.
In 1805 all Tyrol came to Bavaria and during the Tyrolean People's Uprising the Bavarian officer Wilhelm von Metzen died in Rattenberg in a sensational incident by suicide in 1809.
In 2013 the town area was placed under ensemble protection (monument protection). Thus Rattenberg is after Hall the second town ensemble in Tyrol and the 30th in Austria.
