History of the castle:
A seat Hueb is documented in 1485, when the Edel vng vesst Laczarus Ellrechinger zw Heb documented and sealed. From the Ellrechingers the seat passed to the Dachsberger. Around 1517 a Hans von Dachsberg is named. The castle was built under Rudolph von Dachsberg (Taxberg) at Aspach on a hill of the Mettmacher Au.
Through the marriage of Anna Juliane von Dachsperg, married Freifrau von Franking and later married Wartenberg, the possession passed to the Counts of Wartenberg. With Ferdinand Lorenz von Wartenberg this dynasty died out on the 3rd of July 1654. Heirs of the Wartenberger were the Frankinger. Hueb remained in the possession of the Counts of Franking until 1829. From them it passed to the Handel family. In 1853 Ernst von Handel-Mazzetti took over the estate. The successor was in 1920 the writer Anton Schott (1866–1945).[1] Since 1930 Hueb has been owned by Hermine Bruckbauer or since 1959 in the ownership of her daughter Marie. The castle was described around 1960 as freshly renovated or as a delightful little castle.
In the castle there is a chapel installed and on the park property there is a second chapel. A plaque bearing the following names is attached: Handel auf Hueb und Hagenau 1776–1847, J. v. Preen 1783–1806, L. Franz von Handel 1855, A. Fr. Mazzetti von Roccamova 1813–1845, C, Benvenutti von Chiusole 1816–1847. Above the entrance to the castle is the year 1610, to the left is the coat of arms of the Dachsberger, to the right the coat of arms of a Sabina Dachsberg, born Herzham. Between the castle and the farm buildings there is a connecting wall that originally belonged to the former gate structure. Above the gate there is a formerly open defensive walkway from the castle to a gazebo of the farm building. This is two-story and also equipped with a Schopfwalmdach.
