About this office
In the heart of Vienna, at Fleischmarkt, stood the Nako’s House.
The Greek merchant Christof Nako bought the original two houses in 1793 and converted them into a single townhouse. The core of the old house is still preserved today.
The inscription above the third floor is also a testament to the 18th century: “Transient is this house, yet Joseph's posthumous fame never fades; he gave us tolerance, immortality did it give!”
These lines recall the toleration patent issued by Joseph II in 1781. This granted freedom of religious practice for non-Catholic Christians. The jewel of Josephinist architectural art has been under monument protection since 1974 – for this reason, the general renovation and the roof expansion were carried out in 1996 particularly gently, which allowed parts of the historic building to be preserved.
The “Tolerance House” can also boast pawlatschengänge in the large courtyard — this typically Viennese feature is a gang construction through which one reaches the apartments and offices.
Located in the city center, the address benefits from the excellent infrastructure and public transport connections. The surrounding area offers a variety of possibilities — nearby there are convenience stores as well as inviting shopping streets in close proximity. Cultural institutions and several green spaces are also reachable within a few minutes on foot.
The office offers an incredibly efficient layout and currently a generous reception area and 7 offices.
The property was generally renovated three years ago by the landlord, i.e.: all windows and doors were refurbished and the existing solid acacia parquet floor refinished.
Additionally, the entire space was equipped with air conditioning.
In addition to a generous kitchen and existing IT cabling, the office also offers separate restrooms for women and men, as well as a shower.
