About this apartment
Seldom does the opportunity arise to breathe highly individual living quality into a building that is several centuries old. The venerable Reindlmühle on the Almkanal in Leopoldskron is one of the reconstructions that could just be saved in time before complete decay. The Salzburg architectural firm of Michael Eisl developed from it, incorporating all official requirements of the historically significant structure, an exciting property with four residential units, whose exquisite furnishings were implemented by the experienced interior design specialists of Famler Einrichtungen in their in-house joinery.
The history
Impressively clear and harmonious, the historic Reindlmühle has recently presented itself from the outside. What a painting by Johann Fischbach around 1830 captures – namely 'House near Salzburg with Untersberg' – has fortunately been revitalized in its essential features since 2016. Formerly the building served as a mill, and the water of the Almkanal, which was constructed around 1640 to supply and cool numerous commercial buildings of the Salzburg old town, powered it. The Reindlmühle is located neighboring Schloss Leopoldskron and thus lies within the city's landscape protection area. Festungsberg, Mönchsberg and Rainberg line the green space towards the old town – a brilliant view for a residence on three levels.
