The city of Braunau am Inn forms with the opposite German town of Simbach am Inn in Bavaria a cross-border center.

Linzerstraße is one of the longest and most splendid streets in Braunau's Old Town.

As the name already suggests, people once reached Linz via this street.

In its long history the street housed numerous city-important businesses such as the Mayrbräu brewery, in whose walls today the Altstadthotel Mayrbräu is located.

Parts of the fortifications bear witness to its history as a fortress city and the Iron Horse, which recalls the last slaughtered horse during a long siege by Austrian troops and that after the end of World War II it was used as a target.

Today Linzerstraße invites strolling with its shops, cafés and wine bars.
