Two new access options of the extended U5 line will be created in the immediate vicinity. Through the linking of the U5 and U6 at the Michelbeuern/AKH station (approx. 10 minutes on foot), the neighboring district of Währing will be better connected with public transport and the city center. The new Elterleinplatz station (approx. 5 minutes on foot) again connects the Hernals district to the subway network and creates a fast connection to the city center. Both stations will significantly enhance the micro-location of Bergsteiggasse.

The U5 subway line will, once completed, between 2032 and 2035 run from the Hernals transport hub (S-45, tram line 43) to Karlsplatz station (U1, U4) and thereby create a new attractive and fast office connection to the city center.
