Standort und Allgemeines The charming Hotel Moscher, also known as "Sportzentrum Moscher", is a well-known, family-run hotel in Hohentauern, ideal for ski and hiking holidays. It is located at an elevation of approx. 1,240 m and offers direct access to the slopes and hiking trails, including ski-in/ski-out possibilities, which provide convenient access to the ski runs up to the hotel. Directly at the base station is also the access to the "Tauern-Loipe", which is available for both skating and classic cross-country. The ski area covers about 30 ha and includes, in addition to forest, water springs, a snowmaking pond, 5 chairlifts, 11 km of pistes with all levels of difficulty - the ski race pistes have been FIS-homologated since 2025 - and building plots also a sport hotel with restaurant and terrace, a multifunctional riding hall, an outbuilding with sports equipment rental and garages, four large parking areas, as well as a mountain hut at 1,800 m elevation! Hotel and room offering The hotel was built in 1991/1992 and has 18 rooms and apartments, accommodating up to 50 guests. The hotel building is a U-shaped structure with a small basement and consists of a ground floor, 1st floor, an expanded attic, and an expanded attic loft. The rooms furnished with wooden furniture in country-house style create a cozy atmosphere. The approx. 300-400 year old timber from the old building gives the rooms unique charm and cozy warmth. Each room has its own bathroom with shower or bath. With a total of 11 km of slopes covering all levels of difficulty, winter sports enthusiasts can enjoy the runs. Numerous powder snow variants and a snowmaking system guarantee optimal conditions. The altitudes of the various stations are as follows: the valley station is at 1250 m, the mid station reaches 1550 m, and the mountain station towers at an impressive 1800 m. All facilities were checked in 2025, and the main lift received a new rope. For 2026 only the usual service and maintenance work are necessary. The ski race pistes have been FIS homologated since 2025! Wichtelhütte The "Wichtelhütte" at 1,800 m elevation offers a large, sunny terrace with a breathtaking view of the Bösenstein panorama (Bösenstein: the highest peak of the Murtal at 2,448 meters) and is a popular meeting point for guests and locals. Schischule - Nebengebäude The internationally renowned ski school offers, with a special children's ski school area, a wide range of courses for all ages. Directly at the base station, the approx. 250 m² outbuilding includes among other things garages, storage rooms, a sport shop as well as a rental of brand-new and used ski and cross-country ski equipment as well as devices for ski preparation.
