The municipality of Liesing in the Lesachtal valley lies at an altitude of approx. 1048m and has only 130 inhabitants. The Lesachtal valley is described as the most unspoilt valley in the Alps - picturesque, quiet, original, on the border between Austria and Italy, between the Lienz Dolomites and the Carnic Alps.

The region has a long history and is known for preserving customs and culture. Shoemaking also played an important role in the past. The “last Lesachtal master shoemaker” left his cosy and original workshop in its original condition. And it is precisely this gem of a house, with all its historical significance, that is now available for purchase. A unique property that is not only a real estate property, but also a testament to the history of craftsmanship in the Lesachtal valley.

The museum itself is also moving into a new chapter, as the tools and utensils are being relocated to a museum in Vienna, where they will continue to preserve the heritage of shoemaking.
