History of Gars:

Gars am Kamp was a government seat under the Babenbergs during the Middle Ages for a time.

In the 19th and 20th centuries the town became famous for traditional summer resort. This is evidenced by the unusually beautiful Gründerzeit houses in the town. By the end of the 20th century the town experienced an upswing due to health tourism initiated by Willi Dungl.

Culture and local supply:

In summer, in Gars – alongside many other cultural events – an opera festival has taken place on the ruins of Gars Castle since 1989. Many artists have chosen Gars as their place of power: Falco had a house here, Otto Lechner, Franz von Suppé as well as Friedensreich Hundertwasser, Karl Heinz Hackl, Prof. Ernie Mangold, Marianne Mendt had or have a residence in Gars.

Gars has medical facilities, good local supply, a Post-Partner, a kindergarten, schools, gastronomy, and two rehabilitation centers.

Short-term rental:

Currently the house is divided into 5 housing units. All housing units are independently accessible. There are also plenty of parking spaces, so there is no obstacle to the future use of the property for short-term rental.

Accessibility:

Krems is reachable by car in 35 minutes, by train a little more than an hour. From Vienna you can reach it by car in one hour, by train you go via Wien-Spittellau in 90 minutes to Gars.
