History:

In 1852, Anton Graf von Attems donated to the Order of the Graz School Sisters an old Maierhof from the 17th century. The dilapidated building was stripped down to the old vaulted cellar, and above it in 1856 a new monastery building with a primary school for girls was erected. In the expanded attic at that time were the cells of the order sisters; in the other two floors up to 200 students of the entire valley were taught by the nuns. After the establishment of the local primary school, the cloister school was closed in 1972 and in 1990 after the relocation of the last 3 sisters the cloister building was sold by the order.

After a comprehensive general renovation it has since been a private family estate, an exclusive residence and a refuge.

In 2003 the former monastery stable was also converted into another, separately owned living option (125 m² living space); in 2021 on the first floor of the northeast wing a separately accessible living unit was created as a loft with around 80 m² of living space and its own terrace.

The country house lies in a roughly 7.600 m² large, secluded garden, which due to its elevation offers a wonderful wide and far view of the charming landscape of southern Styria.
