THE HISTORY

The Hammerherrenhaus is closely linked to Trieben's industrial history. Its origins go back to the year 1553, when the Rottenmanner craftsman Rupert Mettlhammer received the concession to erect the hammer works.

From 1622 to 1872 the hammer works belonged to Admont Abbey and developed into a significant site of Styrian iron processing. The use of hydropower as well as the surrounding forests formed the basis for a powerful sheet metal production. The today’s Hammerherrenhaus was erected in 1667 as a representative steward's house and served the administrator of the hammer works as an office.

In 1844 the operation was visited by the renowned mining researcher Peter Tunner. By the end of the 19th century, the original hammer works developed into a modern sheet metal factory. To this day the Hammerherrenhaus is a significant testament to the region's industrial history and shapes the historic townscape of Trieben.

THE PROPERTY

The property is located in a central and at the same time quiet area of Trieben. The town center with shopping facilities, schools, kindergarten, medical care, gastronomy and public transport is reachable within a few minutes. Via the nearby Pyhrn Autobahn A9 there are excellent connections to Liezen, Leoben, Graz and Linz.
