The Danube Cycle Path running directly past the castle, the surrounding vineyards and the Wetterkreuz offer attractive destinations for excursions outdoors. The Wachau and Göttweig Abbey are also nearby and enrich the range of leisure activities. Vienna is around 72 kilometers away.

History

Hollenburg Castle – a home with history

Hollenburg Castle has been the seat of the Geymüller family since 1822 and looks back on more than two centuries of lived family tradition. Designed by Biedermeier architect Josef Kornhäusl, the historic ensemble continues to shape the character of this special place on the Danube to this day.

Preserved and carefully renovated over generations, the castle is still an inhabited house and a place of encounter and culture today. Historic architecture, the castle garden and the connection to viticulture are part of its identity that has evolved over time.

As part of this ensemble, the Biedermeier Stöckl offers the opportunity to live in this historic setting oneself, with its own distinctive charm and the castle garden immediately outside the door.
