Sustainable energy concept

The apartments are heated predominantly by heat pumps, which use energy from the solar collectors on the roof and from the earth storages.

The heat pumps, in heating operation, draw the heat partly directly from the solar collector and partly from the solar energy stored in the ground beneath or in the foundation slab. In times of no solar yield, the heat pumps use the earth storages as absorbers and withdraw heat from these heat storages. The solar collectors use besides direct solar radiation also the diffuse portion of the sun. To store as completely as possible all the solar energy provided by the collector and to use it with a time lag for heating, the foundation slab and the soil beneath the building are used as storage for surplus energy in the warm season.

The ceiling cooling in the living spaces (living room, bedroom, room) is ensured by cooling lines in the concrete ceiling. This creates a pleasantly evenly tempered room climate in summer (no air conditioning). The heating- / cooling-control is driven by a central thermostat in the living room. The innovative energy system offers on the one hand lower operating costs compared with conventional systems and on the other hand ecologically responsible resource management. Moreover, the remaining roof areas will be equipped with photovoltaic modules and the electricity generated will additionally benefit the residential complex.
