About this apartment
A detached house made of solid wood
The people of Vorarlberg like living in their own homes. However, the dream of owning a house is becoming increasingly difficult to realise.
With our solid-wood semi-detached and terraced houses, we demonstrate how beautiful and comfortable high-density housing can be. They offer an alternative to the classic detached house, while also making it possible to live in your own house.
The project in Kapellenweg in Feldkirch-Tosters proves with 3 solid-wood terraced houses and two semi-detached houses that a fully-fledged house does not have to be large, but only needs to be cleverly planned.
This project is a real stroke of luck. Because in Kapellenweg, not only living space but also space for life is being created, with plenty of open areas, play areas and seating areas.
Where tennis was once played, feel-good houses in the style of British terraced houses are now being built. No anonymous apartment blocks. The terraced houses - all with basements - offer enough space for your home. With three bedrooms each, they are the ideal home for different phases and situations in life.
Very British in the middle of Tosters
At trimana, we build with experience and passion. Our concepts are not simply imposed on plots of land; we adapt each project sensitively to the conditions on site. However, we also check the current requirements for living space every time.
The same applies to Kapellenweg in Feldkirch-Tosters. The existing buildings around Kapellenweg consist of classic detached and multi-family houses. That is why we adopted the idea of the British terraced house (also called terraced houses), which continues to be one of the most popular forms of housing in the United Kingdom. These houses are compact, but clever planning and room layout provide cosy living space for singles, couples and families. And: The rows of houses do not interfere with the existing surrounding landscape, but complement the existing buildings.
Our houses are intended not as an intervention, but as an addition to the built landscape. That is why the gabled roof with dormer is our choice at Vesenweg and represents the traditional Vorarlberg construction style. We thus bring together British cleverness and Vorarlberg building culture. The result: the 102 m² terraced houses at Vesenweg.
Everything a home needs
What does a property need to be called home? We ask ourselves this question anew from project to project – so far, at trimana we have built 51 solid-wood houses and have thus accumulated a wealth of knowledge that enriches each of our subsequent building projects.
A home needs storage space. The solid-wood houses can easily provide this, as they all have their own basement. Furthermore, each terraced house has another private basement compartment in the underground garage for tyres, sports equipment etc.
A home needs a meeting place. A place where people live together. The entire ground floor is precisely this place. This is where the living kitchen, access to the terrace and the garden are located.
A home also needs places of retreat for its residents. With three bedrooms and the studio on the top floor, it is easy to escape the activity on the ground floor. But there is even more space on 102 m². A home office has also already been planned.
A home needs an outdoor area – the terraces and the private small gardens, or even large gardens, fulfil this wish as well.
A home also needs parking spaces. The car has space in the underground garage, and there is also plenty of storage space for bicycles, scooters and the like.
A home needs a wood-burning stove, at least that is what we think, and that is why we equip every house with a chimney. This creates the basis for a wood-burning stove.
But it only becomes a real home when the surroundings are right too. When local suppliers, shops for everyday needs, childcare facilities, schools and doctors’ offices are nearby or can at least be reached easily and quickly on foot, by bicycle or by public transport. All of this applies to this project. And: Nature begins almost right outside the front door.
The houses will be completed by summer 2026
