Mörbisch am See is located in northern Burgenland on the southwestern shore of Lake Neusiedl and has 2228 inhabitants.

The village has a very broad reed belt, so the lake can only be reached via an embankment built up in 1950. At the end of the embankment are the lakeside stage, the modern Mörbisch am See lido, the marina, two shipping companies that operate the ferry service to Illmitz, tennis and beach volleyball courts, a sailing and surfing school, as well as a boat rental service.

Like the whole of Burgenland, Mörbisch am See is equipped with a network of cycle paths. The B31 cycle path connects the municipality with the “Burgenland Jubilee Cycle Path”, and the Lake Neusiedl Cycle Path also passes through Mörbisch am See. 15 tours were developed for Nordic walking enthusiasts in cooperation with the neighboring municipalities of Rust and Oggau.
